Digital Learning Communities for Coherent Mentoring of Field Experiences (DiLe)
At the Friedrich Schiller University, pre-service teachers pass a 5-month field experience in their 5th or 6th semester. It is a challenge to establish coherent mentoring during the field experience which brings together the perspectives and institutional logics of the university as well as schools. In DiLe, we establish digital learning communities that offer the possibility for university lecturers, pre-service teachers and their mentors (i.e. experienced practitioners at schools) to share and co-construct professional knowledge. DiLe is an interdisciplinary cooperation of general educational scientists and researchers in subject-specific education. The project is funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research.
