In her research, she explores teaching and learning processes in literature classrooms, as well as how the professional development of German teachers can be fostered. In her current projects, Iris is particularly interested in the question of how literary knowledge can be modelled to support text comprehension (NarraTeach), and in the qualities of everyday literature teaching. She is investigating the latter as part of a larger video study (QuaLity). Believing that intercultural comparisons can broaden perspectives on approaches to L1 teaching, Iris maintains research and teaching collaborations with colleagues in Finland. Through her teaching, Iris aims to show her students how scientific knowledge can provide new solutions to the challenges they may face in future workplaces.[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Selected Publications” title_tag=”h3″ title_color=”#003366″][vc_separator type=”transparent” border_style=””][vc_column_text]

Hesse, Florian & Winkler, Iris (Eds.).
